I am back!!

July 10th, 2009

We are home and had the most wonderful, relaxing vacation, it was just what we needed. I’m feeling great and starting to take sessions again…I’m so excited, I’ve missed it so much. We are home and had the most wonderful, relaxing vacation, it was just what we needed. I’m feeling great and starting to take sessions again…I’m so excited, I’ve missed it so much. It almost doesn’t seem right to love my job so much! I had my first session yesterday and it went great, I’ll be blogging some from that  next week!

Those of you interested in booking a session feel free to email or call me. July is booked and there are a few spots left open in August. I’ve already had many calls about the fall, so if you are wanting to wait until it cools off for your session get with me now and we will schedule ahead of time. My website will be down for about a week while I’m updating it…but the blog will still be up.

Here are a few that I did of my two sweet girls while we were on vacation. Those of you that would like to see the rest of the pictures from our vacation, add me as a friend on facebook, I have a whole folder of them!

A few things to say…

First off I want to say thank you to all of my WONDERFUL & UNDERSTANDING clients that have called or emailed to check on me over this past month, it means more than you know. And those of you that I’ve had to reschedule for the month of June thank you for being so patient and great about it. Those of you that don’t know what’s going on, I got quite sick the week after I finished up the dance studio and graduation pictures (end of May). I had two hospital stays over the last month. We found out that I have Crohn’s disease, which is no fun at all, but I’m doing better now and that’s all that matters! I’m having issues with my potassium levels, they keep staying low for some reason, so I keep having to take potassium supplements….that are this big <———->, hardest pill ever to swallow! So this is what’s been keeping me from getting back into things just yet. It causes me to be really weak, if I squat down I can hardly stand back up without holding onto something. So needless to say I didn’t want anyone witnessing me fall on my face! But it’s getting better. This is an autoimmune disease, so it’s something that I’ll just have to “deal with”. It can go into remission and come back at any time. So my schedule could become unpredictable, but I plan to allow enough time for reschedules. This means no more booking myself crazy….stress isn’t good, so that will mean less sessions booked per week. The customers that will be affected most by this are the high school seniors. Last year I squeezed as many in as I could, very late in the year, but I just won’t be able to do that this year, so be sure to book early!! The fall is a great time to get your senior pictures taken!

I’ll be gone for the next week on a much needed vacation with my family. When I get back I’ll be giving all of you guys a call that need to reschedule!

Kinder High School seniors, I have your proofs here from the graduation of you receiving your diploma, those will go out in the mail in about a week.

Oberlin High School seniors, I have all of your prints you ordered here at my house. Just give me a call when you would like to come by to pick them up.

Dance pictures are here and I will get with Rosie when I get back from vacation to deliver them to her and then she will be contacting you guys about picking them up at her studio.

****DISK SALE****

I know a lot of you have asked me about this in the past. Well now is the lucky time. I have filled up the external hard drive that I back everything up to. I will be storing the drive in a safe deposit box, so before I store it away I want to offer this to all past customers. There is a rule though, you have to have placed an order from your session to purchase the disk. This way you will always have a backup of your images. The cost for one session on a disk is $250, those of you that have babies that I’ve photographed through out their first year, contact me and I’ll give you a price for multiple sessions. This will be on sale until August 1, 2009. The sale is for past sessions only.

My website will be down for a couple weeks in July for me to update it, it has been months since I’ve updated it. The blog will still be up and running, just the actual website will be down while I redo it. Any past customers that have bought wall portraits, please take pictures of them on your walls and email them to me ktyler@centurytel.net. I want to feature a section on my site of my customers walls so everyone can see how good the portraits look!

And lastly, here are lots of portraits that I’ve not had a chance to blog since getting sick. Hope you guys enjoy and hopefully I won’t be away this long again!

Summer sessions

May 6th, 2009

Somehow this school year has managed to fly by. It seems like just yesterday I was dropping my girls off for the first day of school. I don’t know if it’s because I have been so busy or what, but it’s passing too fast. So this summer I’m only taking very limited sessions so I can spend as much time as possible with my two girls while they are out on summer break. And not spend all of my time sitting at my computer working. I had a mom come to get her daughter’s senior pictures and she told me before I know it I’ll be taking my girls senior photographs, and I thought she is right. So I’m hoping I can slow things down a bit this summer and just have fun with my kids! So if you know you want a session this summer contact me now so you will be sure to have a spot. Otherwise you will be booked in August after school starts back up!

Here’s a little cutie from the other day, and one shot of her brother and sister with them all in their Mardi Gras suits.

I’m still here

May 5th, 2009

Just been super busy!! I haven’t taken the time to blog the recent sessions I’ve been working on, so here are a few. We have been spending lots of time up at the ball park with my girls, I’ll try to blog some of those soon too.  She thinks she’s so big…

He had a hard time being serious for very long. Most of them look like the 2nd one right after the serious face.

We had to reschedule this session so many times I don’t even remember. The rain kept getting us. Poor thing was probably thinking she would have no senior pictures!

She did sleep in her daddy’s arms though…

reeves_103blog

And this one we faked it, I waited until she closed them, the very next frame she was wide awake!

And look at those beautiful eyes, it looks like she was smiling at me…

What’s with all these serious guys??

March 25th, 2009

I had another non-smiler. Well he fought to keep his smiles from me, but I did manage to get one big one, and I’m not gonna mention what was said to get it!  And here you go….. And who could not smile at this sweet baby girl! I’ve been photographing this little cutie since she […]

And who could not smile at this sweet baby girl! I’ve been photographing this little cutie since she was a newborn and I don’t know if I’ve ever met a more laid back happy baby ever, she is absolutely adorable….and definitely knows the camera, she was cheesing it up big time when she would see me pick it up!

A girl and her horse.

March 18th, 2009

I got a call asking if it were okay to bring her horse, I figured sure why not! I’ve not photographed many horses, and I don’t think I’ve ever seen a horse with eyes any other color than brown. This one had one blue eye, so we made sure to keep it towards the camera. […]

When I get right in front of this senior’s house I see spray painted on the road “Sr. ’09″….I figured we better take advantage of it, but just so you know, he didn’t paint it!! Aside from the crazy 20 mph wind and stray dog that kept wanting to get in on the photographs the […]

Aside from the crazy 20 mph wind and stray dog that kept wanting to get in on the photographs the session went great. Thank goodness his mom was along with us to keep the dog occupied, otherwise I don’t know what we would have done.
